are there any accessibil mixing programs? i am running windows vista with jaws 13. just want to have fun mixing music don't really need to record what i do. Let me know if there free or how much they caust. as of now i just use winamp lol
From what I understand, Goldwave is supposed to be good. I think it costs around $50 after the trial runs out. I used it a long time ago and like it although I didn't really do very much with it. Hmm, I should consider getting back into it. Good luck.
audasity is free, and works extremely well with jaws.
Oh cool. Thanks for that info.
Reaper is also $50, give or take. You will need ReaAccess, but it works with all windows based screen readers except narrator. Multitrack editing, recording, mixing, VST support, midi; you name it, Reaper can probably do it. it's a lot smaller than a lot of other programs like Sonar or ProTools. I don't know what I did before multitrack editing. haha. By the way, yes, there is a trial period of 30 days. After this, you will still be able to use the program, but you will get a dialogue periodically that will remind you that you need to pay for the software.
If you start using it and find you need extra support, you can subscribe to the mailing list for people who use Reaper with ReaAccess: RWP@reaaccess.com
Multi-track editing is an extremely huge benifit. Otherwise I'd say sound forge, which works very well. I too would suggest Audacity. It has a few limitations with JAWS, but not all that many, especially for what it sounds like you want it for.
I may need to look into Reaper though. Thanks, Ocean. As good as audacity is, I find aspects of its interface a little clunky.
Wow I wasn't expecting so many choices. Thanks to all who commented and gave your openions. I'l start with audacity and see how it goes.
